Jojoba oil is a liquid plant wax extracted from the seeds of Simmondsia chinensis, a shrub native to the deserts of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Used for centuries by Indigenous peoples for its nourishing and protective properties, it has been adopted by modern cosmetics for its unique benefits. Unlike most vegetable oils, jojoba oil is primarily composed of liquid waxes rather than triglycerides, which gives it high oxidative stability and a long shelf life. Its composition, similar to human sebum, allows for rapid absorption without leaving a greasy residue, while helping to regulate sebum production. It is rich in essential fatty acids (oleic and linoleic acids) and vitamin E, which provide moisturizing, protective, and antioxidant properties. It is particularly suited for the skin, where it deeply hydrates while regulating sebum production, soothes irritation, and helps protect against environmental aggressors. For hair, it nourishes the lengths, repairs damaged ends, adds shine and suppleness, and protects the scalp. Jojoba oil is versatile and can be incorporated into many cosmetic formulations, such as facial and body care products, hair oils, serums, or cleansing oils. Its light texture and hypoallergenic profile make it suitable for all skin and hair types, providing nourishment, protection, and comfort.
Store your vegetable oils properly sealed and out of reach of children.
